THE STRIKE by teachers at some schools in the area on Thursday (April 24) passed off without major incident.
Teachers from the National Union of Teachers held the one-day industrial action over pay, forcing the full closure of seven schools across Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth, and partial closures of three others, including Southam College.
But a Warwickshire County Council spokesman said this week: "Some schools made a local decision to either partially or fully close as a result of the NUT strike action.
"Where possible, classes continued as normal and disruption was kept to a minimum.
"We worked very closely with our schools to assist their arrangements and maintain the education of pupils in the county."
