    May 5 - Dale Street Methodist Church, Leamington - Lots to see and do for young, old and in-between at free May-Day BBQ event. Hands-on crafts, food, bouncy-castle, music, labyrinth and more. Noon to 4pm.

    May 7 - Warwick Probus No 2 Club - speaker Arthur Hamilton, one of the members, who will be giving a talk entitled Colonial and Communist Hong Kong.
    The Club, which is for retired professional and businessmen, meets on the first Wednesday of each month at Racing Club Warwick Football Club, Hampton Road, commencing at 10am. with coffee and biscuits followed by a presentation from a speaker. New members are always welcome and can either turn up at any meeting or obtain further details from the membership secretary Noel Taylor on 01789 470308.

    May 10 - Warwickshire Local History Society village walk in Ladbroke. Park in the old farmyard opposite to the Church, and then assemble in the church at 2pm for a talk about the church and village. After a walk around this most interesting village (mentioned in Domesday as having two priests) and still with many ancient buildings, we will end by re-assembling in the church for a cup of tea and cakes.     May 17 - FOBIPS (Friends of Bishops Itchington School) May Fayre. The theme for this year is Family Fun.  Tug-of-war competition, three-legged race and welly wangling, May Pole dancing, country dancing, games, refreshments and more. 2pm to 5pm.

    May 17 - Book sale - Northgate Methodist Church Hall, Barrack Street, Warwick 10am to noon. Admission free.

    May 26 - A traditional fete takes place at Ashorne Village Hall and on the surrounding green on the Bank Holiday Monday starting at 2pm.
    The fete - featuring stalls, cakes, and teas - will raise funds for St George's Church at Newbold Pacey.

    • Kenilworth Disability Action Group which meets at Newlands the last Friday of every month at between 2.30 and 4.30pm . Aims to improve the lives of disabled people within the community by monitoring the conditions of pavement, identifying obstructions, ensuring adequate dropped kerbs on pavements are in place, access to building, retails shot, and health and safety issues are dealt with by the relevant government bodies.     • Leamington Breastfeeding Group meets every Thursday and gives mothers a chance to make friends and support each other in giving their babies the best nourishment possible through breastfeeding. A nursery nurse and health visitor are on hand for support and advice, and refreshments and fruit are provided.
