A BOOK-LADEN lorry is Africa-bound thanks to generous bookworms in Warwick.
The Book Bus Foundation charity loaded up 15,000 children's books at its town centre headquarters on Friday (February 10) before they started their journey to Livingstone in Zambia.
The books will be distributed to schools throughout the country as part of a drive to raise child literacy rates.
Mark Davison of the Book Bus Foundation said: "We have received generous donations of books and funds from local schools, shops and individuals in Warwick.
"The children in Zambia have been anticipating this moment for 12 months and the generosity of the people of Warwick has made it possible. With support from DHL, the shipping agents, the books will start their remarkable journey from Warwick and arrive two months later in the heart of Africa within site of the wonderful Victoria Falls."
