LEAMINGTON hurdler Sara McGreavy is gradually returning to top form.
McGreavy achieved two consecutive season best performances in the heats and finals while representing England in Bratislava and Vienna the previous week.
She produced another season’s best to gain third place when representing Birmingham in the 60 metre hurdles in the Inter City challenge at the weekend.
The hotly contested race in Sheffield, featuring the best in the country, was billed as one of the highlights of the day.
McGreavy, who is sponsored by Catermasters and PhysioWorld, got a trademark fast start and was well up with the field at the first hurdle.
But after hitting the second hurdle she lost some momentum leaving world champion Jessica Ennis and Sarah Claxton to pull away.
Ennis won the race in 8.03 seconds, finishing ahead of Claxton 8.26 with McGreavy third in a time of 8.45 seconds.
McGreavy said:“I am now almost back to full fitness and I am training well, but I really need a few more hard runs to get up to full racing speed”.
McGreavy is back on the track this Sunday competing back in the Sheffield in the UK Indoor Championships.
