A SINGER-songwriter is hoping to follow in the steps of Adele and Emili Sande as she competes in a national search to find undiscovered music talent.
Nina Baker was recently shortlisted for MTV's Brand New for 2013 Unsigned Music competition.
The 25-year-old singer will compete against hundreds of other unsigned acts from around the country for the opportunity to perform live on MTV in London and potentially secure a record contract.
All the acts have uploaded a profile on the MTV website and people have until November 12 to vote for their favourite.
Once voting closes, the 20 artists with the most votes will be put in front of a panel of MTV editorial music experts who will choose an overall winner on November 28.
Past winners include the likes of Jessie J and Tinie Tempah and Nina is hoping to eminate their success in the future.
The clasically-trained performer, who lives in Kineton, was put forward for the competition by her manager and is now urging people to get behind her in a bid to secure the title.
The pianist, originally from Norfolk, moved to Warwickshire six months ago to be closer to her producer while she works on her forthcoming debut album, Quite Frankly.
The 13-track disc features a mix of pop, rock, acoustic, folk, soul and country and is set to be released early next year.
And Nina, who writes her own material, will also be playing at Kasbah in Coventry on October 29, The White Horse in Leamington on October 30 and Head Records in Leamington on Nov 3.
She said: “I've been lucky to work with some brilliant producers on the album who are very diverse and as a result the album itself features quite a few different styles.”
Speaking about the competition, she said: “It's a massive honour to be included in the nominations - I'm really excited.
“It's come at a brilliant time for me and it could be a huge platform for me as it would be a great opportunity to get recognition or even get signed."
