Lee Mead bringing tour to Spa Centre

Leamington Editorial 26th Sep, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

LEE Mead stops off at Leamington’s Spa Centre on October 2 during his Some Enchanted Evening tour.

The show, featuring music from his most recent best-selling studio album of the same name, sees the singer fulfill a personal ambition to perform a show of classic songs from the Hollywood musicals.

They include songs from Rodgers & Hammerstein musical South Pacific; Singin’ In The Rain, from the MGM musical comedy starring Gene Kelly, and Luck Be A Lady from Guys n Dolls, Where Or When from Babes in Arms; I Fall In Love Too Easily from the movie Anchors Aweigh; I’ll See You In My Dreams from the eponymously titled 1951 film; Almost Like Being in Love from Brigadoon; the Jerome Kern/Oscar Hammerstein II All The Things You Are; George and Ira Gershwin’s A Foggy Day ( In London Town); and the 1937 jazz standard By Myself

Ever since he won the coveted role of Joseph in the TV series Any Dream Will Do, Mead has not looked back and starred in hit west end musicals Joseph, Wicked and Legally Blonde before scoring a role in the long running BBC drama Casualty playing the character of Lofty.

* A CROSS classical concert featuring stars of Britain’s Got Talent and The Voice takes place at Leamington’s Spa Centre on September 24.

Faryl Smith (Britain’s Got Talent); Karl Loxley and Classical Reflection (both The Voice) will be joined by Catriona Murray, who has toured with Paul Potts, and Warwick-based Sing Well Community Choir, performing classical and WEst End favourites.
