A MUSICALLY-minded teenager from Princethorpe College will be getting Godiva Festival revellers on their feet this weekend.
Self-taught guitarist Joe Rees will be performing a number of his songs at the Coventry festival this weekend after winning a competition.
But the 15-year-old from Rugby is not nervous about his half-hour slot as he has spent months performing on his own YouTube channel and on the stage.
And Joe – who says Oasis and The Smiths are his inspiration – isn’t planning to stop at the festival.
He said: “I want to travel the world doing what I love – writing songs and playing them to audiences who want to listen to my music.
“It gives me such a buzz to know that something I’ve recorded at home in Rugby is being watched by people around the world on my YouTube channel, but I really can’t wait for Godiva, it’s going to be great.”
Joe will perform from 1pm on Saturday (July 3) in the Paradise Tent.
