Warwickshire Amateur Community Theatre - One Act Play Festival

WARWICKSHIRE Amateur Community Theatre presents its bi-annual One Act Play Festival this week.

Eight local groups come together to celebrate their passion for live theatre at Shipston’s Townsend Hall from Thursday (June 12) through to Saturday (June 14).

On Thursday, Grange Players (Southam) present ‘Calling Time’ by Derek Webb, while Harbury Theatre Group offer Neil Simon’s ‘Visitors from Chicago’.

On Friday, Lighthorne Drama Group present ‘Tell Me Another Story, Sing Me a Song’ by Jean Lenox Toddie; Kineton Amateur Dramatic Society offer ‘Hound Dog’ by Ginny Davis.; and Caramba Theatre Group (Stratford) present Stevenson’s classic ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’.




On Saturday, Barford Drama Group present Dylan Thomas’ ‘Return Journey’ and ‘A Child’s Christmas in Wales’; Cubbington Players offer ‘Cards, Cups and Crystal Balls’ by David Campion; and Shipston Amateur Dramatic Society round things off with Chekov’s ‘The Proposal’.

Warwickshire Amateur Community Theatre (Warwickshire ACT) is a small group of amateur drama groups in south Warwickshire which hold festivals every two years, and inbetween organise training and social events. Membership is open to all non-professional drama and theatre groups across Warwickshire.


Curtain-up is 7.30pm each evening, and entry is £3 on the door.
