THE BEAUCHAMP Chapel at St Mary’s Church in Warwick now boasts bunting.
Beauchamp’s Beautiful Bunting project, running until August 31, celebrates the first stage of the restoration work on the
historic chapel which needs £2million of repairs.
People are being urged to take part in the free project to make bunting to decorate the chapel, which is home to the tomb of Richard Beauchamp, one of the great treasures of medieval art.
Campaign director Alison Giles said: “We’re delighted to have passed the very important milestone of our first £1million raised, but there’s still a long way to go. There remains a need for a further million pounds’ worth of repairs to make St Mary’s future really secure.”
There is an exhibition telling the story of the restoration so far including photos showing new carvings now in position
