Children may be entering dangerous derelict building

Leamington Editorial 16th Feb, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

POLICE are concerned children are putting themselves at risk by entering a dangerous derelict building.

The former North Leamington School site has been closed since 2009 and is now littered with broken glass.

But police have recently received reports children could be gaining access to the building, and ignoring the warning signs surrounding it.

A spokesman said: “The area is not safe, and children should not make attempts to access it. There is broken glass on the site which could cause injuries.

“The police are working together with the owners of the site and the council, to make it more secure. We are thinking of children’s safety.”
