DOGS Trust worker Helen Barlow used her two legs to raise over £1,500 for some four-legged friends.
Helen, who has worked at the charity’s Kenilworth centre for over a decade ran the London Marathon in just under five hours to raise much needed funds to support the 1,900 dogs they care for each year.
She said: “Training for the marathon completely took over my life, the day itself was incredibly challenging and my feet and knees have taken a real battering but every sore step was worth it to raise money for the unwanted, abandoned and stray dogs we care for at Dogs Trust Kenilworth.
“The support I had from staff and supporters of Dogs Trust has been incredible. I wanted to do something special and it’s incredible to see the money I raised to help care for our dogs right in front of me. During all the months of training I thought of all the people I have met at Dogs Trust and all the lovely four legged friends we have re-homed.”
