A 20-year-old man was arrested immediately after the crash on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.

He was originally bailed until July 31 but this week police confirmed he had been re-bailed until September 8.

Emergency services attended the crash along with police and the road was closed for several hours while collision investigators examined the scene to determine the cause of the smash.

The stretch of road was flooded with floral tributes and cards in the aftermath of the crash.
