KENILWORTH Lions Club is again organising two popular Christmas events to raise lots of money for local good causes.
It hosts the annual Carols in the Castle at Kenilworth Castle on Saturday (December 19), featuring Christmas music, singing and poetry.
The music will be provided by the Salvation Army Band, supported by choirs of children from the local primary schools.
The gates open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Everyone is advised to dress warmly, and mulled wine, tea, coffee, soup and cakes will be on sale. Entry is £5 at the gate on the night (children under 12 free).
And on Boxing Day there is the ever-popular Charity Duck Race in Abbey Fields.
Back a duck by buying numbered tickets for £1 each. There are prizes of £100, £75, £50 and £25. The ducks will be launched by the mayor at noon at the ford. Before Christmas, tickets will be available directly from Lions, at Waitrose this weekend, at the Thursday market, and at selected pubs and shops around Kenilworth.
