A MAN was left with major head injuries after being beaten up by a gang in Warwick.

The victim – a 40-year-old man – is believed to have been attacked by a group of men near the Millwright Arms pub on Coten End sometime between 1am and 1.15am on Sunday (June 14).

He sustained major head injuries and had to be treated at Warwick Hospital.

One of the attackers is described as being in his 20’s, around 6ft tall, with fair hair, clean shaven, and of an athletic build.

Prior to the incident, the victim had been in the Great Western pub on Coventry Road in the company of an unknown man, who is believed to have witnessed the attack.

After the attack, a woman – described as white, in her 50’s, with blonde hair, neatly dressed – approached the victim and offered help.

Police are looking to speak to the man who was with the victim prior to and during the attack and the lady who assisted the victim afterwards.

They would also like to hear from any other potential witnesses who may have been within the area at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
