Man remanded after 'suspected stabbing' in Leamington

A 21 YEAR-old man has been been remanded in custody after being charged following a suspected stabbing in Leamington’s Pump Room Gardens.

Ibrahim Diallo, of no fixed abode, was charged with wounding with intent following the incident in Leamington’s Pump Room Gardens on Tuesday August 11.

He appeared at Leamington Magistrates Court two days later, where he was committed to appear at Warwick Crown Court on November 19. He was remanded in custody.

A 16 year-old boy from Warwick has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed until September 15 while inquiries continue.




The victim, in his 20s, was taken to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be life changing or life threatening.

Police were called to the gardens shortly before 2pm after a man sustained injuries to his shoulder, believed to have been caused by a ‘bladed weapon’.


Officers, including forensic specialists, were working at both ends of the Lindon Arches running parallel to the Parade, during the afternoon.

Police reported a weapon was recovered from the scene.
