Paramedic is swapping her helicopter for a horse

A PARAMEDIC is swapping her helicopter for a horse to raise money for charity.

Air ambulance paramedic Philippa Gibbs is hoping to raise £1,000 for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance by competing in a charity race at Warwick Racecourse’s final meeting of the season on May 18.

Although she is experienced in team chasing, this will be Philippa’s first time riding on a racecourse – she will ride Gwili Spar who is trained in Kineton.

She said: “It’s a real challenge to do this, but also an honour. I am so often the one using the medicines and equipment that cost so much, so it’s great to be able help in a small way to raise some money.”
