Police launch fresh appeal for missing Ryton man

A FRESH appeal has been launched to find a man who went missing in Ryton-on-Dunsmore two months ago.

Nottingham man Baljeev Johal, 24, was last seen with his family on Saturday October 4 at a wedding party at the Sports Connexion on Leamington Road.

It is thought he left the venue on foot and he was reported missing in the early hours of the following day (October 5).

Baljeev’s sister, Haneet, spoke of her brother and appealed for anyone with any information to contact the police.

She said: “As a family we are extremely concerned for his safety. This is completely out of character for him and we need to know if he is OK.

“It is difficult to carry on with normal daily life and we are all struggling with the knowledge he is out there without knowing if he is safe.

“I want to speak directly to my brother and ask him to call me. If he could just call me and tell me he is alright.

“We were all looking forward to a lovely family Christmas and we all hope and pray that by then he will be back at home with us.”

Baljeev is described as Asian and around 6ft 3ins tall.

He wears glasses and was last seen wearing a slim white shirt with a black jacket and black trousers.

Detective Inspector Jason Downes, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our search to find Baljeev continues and we are very concerned for his welfare.

“We urge anyone who may have been in Ryton on the night he went missing or has seen anyone matching his description to get in contact.”

Call Warwickshire Police on 101 or the charity Missing People, in confidence, on 116 000.

The hashtag #findbaljeev on Facebook and Twitter is also being used to help spread awareness of the search.
