Police offer Halloween advice

Leamington Editorial 24th Oct, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

POLICE are warning trick or treaters to stay safe while enjoying Halloween.

With October 31 just around the corner, advice is being offered to those venturing outside.

Adults should always accompany youngsters and only visit homes of people they know

And those going out after dark should keep to well-lit areas and ensure they carry a torch.

Elderly and vulnerable members of society can also find Halloween a stressful time, so people should avoid visiting them while completing their trick or treating rounds.

And for those wanting to deter people stopping by their house, the police have a downloadable poster which can be displayed on a window or door.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “If you’d rather your home was not visited this Halloween, we have a ‘sorry no trick or treat’ downloadable poster that you can display as well as general advice.

“Please share the poster and advice with elderly and/or vulnerable neighbours and relatives.”
