MUSIC fans will be making tracks to Leamington on Saturday (April 16).

Head, based in the town’s Royal Priors, will be celebrating Record Store Day by offering music fans a host of limited edition vinyl releases from big names including the late David Bowie, Noel Gallagher, Nirvana, Mumford & Sons, and Manic Street Preachers.

Head will be celebrating the annual event along with other independent stores up and down the country. The store will be opening at 8am, and vinyl junkies should queue outside Costa at the Regent Street entrance to the shopping centre.

Head manager Ben Enock said: “There are some really great releases this year, including one with a local connection in Ocean Colour Scene’s Moseley Shoals album, the cover of which was shot in the Jephson Gardens.”

Seismic Records, based at the Assembly in Spencer Street, will also be taking part in Record Store Day, including hosting a performance of experimental soul music by Bastien Keb.

And music fans will be in seventh heaven on Saturday as they can also pop along to Leamington Town Hall for the Leamington Record & CD Fair, running from 10am to 4pm, with free admission.

There they can indulge their vinyl and CD passions for everything from rock to reggae, electronica to easy listening, and everything in between.
