THE BIKER killed in a crash on the Fosse Way at the weekend was a 66-year-old man from Rugby.

Emergency services – including the air ambulance – were called to the B4455 Fosse Way between Harwoods House and Moreton Morrell just before 2pm on Saturday (June 27).

It is understood a black Triumph motorcycle was travelling south on the Fosse Way and, after overtaking a blue Ford Mondeo near to the entrance of Glebe Farm, the biker collided with a blue and orange KTM motorcycle, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The rider of the Triumph – revealed by police to be a 66-year-old man from Rugby – was pronounced dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews attended a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle. Sadly, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man who was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Warwickshire Police is now appealing for either witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw the manner in which the motorcycles were being driven to call 101, quoting incident 214 of June 27.
