Victorian Evening lit up Warwick

Leamington Editorial 30th Nov, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

HISTORY came alive at Warwick’s Victorian Evening.

fThe Market Square was filled with 19th century  favourites rom a fairground organ to a carousel and helter-skelter.

Festive folk were encouraged to dress in Victorian attire, and it was top hats and frock coats for the gentlemen, and big dresses and bonnets for the ladies.

Not-so-Victorian was some of the food offerings – burgers, samosas and doughnuts – but their were roasted chestnuts to provide a taste of the past.

The main stage hosted musicians and choirs throughout the night who performed Christmas classics and chart hits.

And Morris Dancers, fire jugglers and even characters from Frozen provided entertainment around the streets.

Traders were helping everyone get ready for the big day with a variety of gifts from jewellery to hand-carved wooden animals.
