A 26-YEAR-OLD man had his mobile phone stolen during a robbery in Leamington.

The man was walking up the Parade around 6pm on Wednesday (September 30) but as he turned onto Warwick Street he was assaulted by another man, who took his phone.

The victim, who was wearing black trousers, a black t-shirt and black footwear, suffered cuts and grazes and had to be taken to hospital as a result of the attack.

It is believed he had been followed from the Pump Room gardens by the attacker – a man in his mid-twenties, around 5ft 9in, and of a skinny build.

He had short brown hair, was clean-shaven and was thought to be wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
