Work set to start on Kenilworth Railway Station

Leamington Editorial 24th May, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

IT will be full steam ahead when work starts on the new Kenilworth Railway Station this summer.

Over the next few months work will begin on the £12million station on Priory Road, which will provide a service between Leamington and Coventry.

The project will see a new track through Kenilworth along with the construction of a new line at Leamington Station. There will also be a number of signalling upgrades.

The Department for Transport’s New Station Fund is contributing £5million to the total £12 million cost of the Kenilworth Station project, with the remainder of the funding being provided by local transport bodies and Warwickshire County Council.

Work is due to be completed early next year.
