A TEENAGER from Leamington has been named a top NHS apprentice.

Kate Young, who has spent two years at Waterside Medical Centre in Leamington completing her apprenticeship in business administration, was recently crowned the primary care apprentice of the year in the West Midlands NHS Apprenticeship Recognition awards.

The 18 year-old, now a full time member of the Court Street centre’s team, said: “I am delighted to have won the award. I’m very grateful to the Waterside Medical Centre for the fantastic support they have given me throughout my apprenticeship and now as a member of their permanent team.

“I’d really recommend NHS apprenticeships to other young people who want to develop their skills and put them into practice in an interesting and challenging environment. It’s a great way to prepare you for employment.”
