Jamie Tanks to remain at Leamington Brakes

YOUNG defender Jamie Tank has agreed a new deal that will keep him at Leamington Brakes for the forthcoming 2015/16 season.

The 21-year-old made 40 appearances for the club in a promising first season at Non-League level following his release from the professsional ranks at Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer.

The central defender has penned a one-year deal as he gears up to help the club attempt an immediate return to the Conference North.

“I’m delighted that Jamie has committed to us for this year,” said Brakes boss Paul Holleran.

“I think that he’s a player who could go again given time. It would have been great experience for him last season playing as many games as he did at that level.

“There were times in the season that he was very good and there were times when he petered off a bit which all young lads do, but I think he’ll draw from that experience and gain from it.

“He’s the kind of player that we want here and we are very happy that he feels that in the short term the best option for him is to be at Leamington.”

Midfielder Jordan Goddard has signalled his intention to Holleran that he will not take up the contract offer renewal from the club as he wants to continue playing at a higher level.

The club has also confirmed that Bilal Yafai and Nathan Hicks will not be offered new deals.
