WHILE most people will be enjoying their festive grub and a celebratory drink, one young man who will be working hard over the Christmas break is Leamington boxer Danny Quartermaine.

The teenager has been selected for a final eliminator for the ABA England’s elite belt which takes place on January 16 in Birmingham.

If Quatermaine comes through the fight he will come up against Corey O’Regan (Bradford ABC) in Bethnal Green on January 29.

It will be a busy start to the new year for Clearys Boxing with Lewis Williams entering the Youth Championships also on January 16.

Williams will be hoping to secure a double after winning the national championship title earlier this year and he will be looking to secure a place in the tri-nations competition where he can impress the England and Great Britain selectors.

Clearys has also confirmed it will be staging another event at the Assembly Room on February 6 where a Central England Youth belt will be taking place.

Topping the bill will be Quatermaine who will be challenging for the Senior Elite belt while Williams is also expected to be in action.
