WARWICKSHIRE came out on top at stage three of the Inter County Squash Championships which were held at Hunts County Squash Club on Sunday.
Cambridgeshire the latest round which saw Warwickshire come up against Cambridgeshire for a place in the finals in March after Oxfordshire was forced to withdraw.
Captain Alison Insley got Warwickshire’s day off to a fine start thanks to a comfortable win at fifth string against Lisa Hurrell and Jane Armstrong alos came up trumps thanks to a 3-0 victory over Rebecca Moore.
At third string Sam Hampson made easy work of her match against Julie Miller by storming to a 3-0 win and Jill Chilvers secured fourth match for Warwickshire by also claiming a 3-0 win over her opponent Anne Walton.
Cambridgeshire’s top string lady Sarah Howlett put up a fight against Rachel Woolford but lost out 3-1 as Warwickshire booked their place in the finals with a maximum points total of 80 points, where they will come up against the winners of the other leagues in March.
