HISTORY has been made at a Leamington primary school with its first ‘good’ Ofsted report.

Kingsway Community Primary School has gone from being in ‘desperate measures’ to a ‘good’ rating following a recent visit by inspectors.

Headteacher Sharon Byrne told the Observer she felt the report reflected the progress the Baker Avenue school had made since their last inspection and joining Community Academies Trust in January 2021.

She added the school was particularly proud Ofsted identified Kingsway as ‘a very warm and caring school’ and that they had ‘high expectations of how well pupils behave and achieve.’

It was recognised that they have ‘put in place an ambitious, well organised and exciting curriculum which pupils enjoy and remember.’

Mrs Byrne added: “This is a fantastic achievement for everyone in our school community – to be able to say we have changed the course of the school’s history is something to be immensely proud of.”
