WARWICKSHIRE CCC showed resistance to bat through the final day and claim a County Championship draw against Sussex.
Alex Davies (58), Tom Latham (69) and Sam Hain (53 not out) all scored half-centuries and faced more than 100 balls each to frustrate the hosts at the County Ground in Hove.
The Bears posted 415 all out in their first innings as Sussex responded with 533 as Corey Rocchiccioli took 6-173.
Warwickshire began the final day on 88-1 and with 18 overs lost to rain and bad light the game inevitably ended in a draw as the visitors closed on 260-4.
Bears opener Rob Yates (93) fell just short of a century in the first innings while Hain (87) and Ed Barnard (66) registered half-centuries.
Sussex opener Daniel Hughes (151) and James Coles (150) starred with the bat for the home side as the pair piled on the runs in a drawing effort.
The Bears took 13 points from the fixture while Sussex came away with 14 points.
The result means Warwickshire sit fifth in the County Championship Division One table.
Warwickshire’s players will now turn their attention to the T20 Blast competition.
Birmingham Bears travel to Leicestershire Foxes on Friday, July 4 with the game to start at 6.30pm at Grace Road.
