South Warwickshire NHS staff saddle up for charity

FUNDRAISERS across south Warwickshire are being called to saddle up for a 30th anniversary hospital cycling challenge.

SWFT Charity, the official charity of South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, is inviting people to take part in Cycle for SWFT on Thursday May 21 from 8am until 8pm.

The 12-hour event marks a significant milestone as SWFT Charity celebrates three decades of supporting NHS services across south Warwickshire. The charity hopes the challenge will not only celebrate past achievements but also help fund future enhancements to local hospitals and community NHS services for the next 30 years and beyond.

The challenge involves booking a 30 minute slot to cycle a static bike at one of SWFT’s hospitals in a bid to raise £30 for SWFT Charity. Static bikes will be available at Warwick Hospital, Leamington Hospital and Stratford Hospital.

Participants can also take part at selected local gym venues across the area, including Everyone Active Gyms across south Warwickshire, Nuffield Health Warwick, Apollo Gym in Coventry and more.

Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers at the end of the event which is open to people of all abilities over the age of 18.

All participants will receive a t-shirt and a certificate upon completion of the challenge.

A spokesperson for SWFT Charity said: “Celebrating 30 years of supporting our NHS is a huge milestone for us. Cycle for SWFT is a fantastic way for our community to come together, get active, and help us continue making a difference for patients and staff across south Warwickshire.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported SWFT Charity over the past 30 years, we are already so excited for the next 30, enhancing our wonderful NHS for everyone who needs it.”
