ROYAL Leamington Spa ABC fighter Will Bradbury endured a tough start to his boxing career in Willenhall.
Bradbury faced Buckingham ABC fighter Jude Flockton in a bout at 80kg.
The Leamington fighter pushed Flockton back with a flurry of combinations.
However, a straight backhand opened up Bradbury’s nose as the two fighters traded punches.
Flockton landed the cleaner shots and the referee stepped in to stop the bout in the second round to allow the doctor to inspect Bradbury’s nose.
The doctor declared Bradbury fit to continue as the fighter carried on bravely despite difficulty with his breathing.
He still landed some neat combinations but Flockton had his hand raised at the end of the three-round contest.
Leamington fighter Harry McKelvie boxed in a skills bout against Mohammed Chaudhry of Reading East ABC in a non-scoring contest in the first bout of the night.
