FOOTBALL - Annual charity Railway Football Tournament to take place at Racing Club Warwick

THE annual charity Railway Football Tournament will take place next month which marks the event’s fifth anniversary.

The fifth edition of the charity event takes place on Friday, July 10 at Racing Club Warwick’s Townsend Meadow home with the action to begin at 9.30am.

A total of 35 teams and around 350 players will compete to win eight trophies.

Organisers hope to take the total raised by the tournament to more than £20,000 since its inception in 2022.

Money raised at this year’s tournament will go to a range of charitable causes.

This includes the Colebridge Trust, Helping Hands, Legend on the Bench, British Liver Trust, MS Society and Remember Rufus.




And donations will also be made to Aiden O’Neil, who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, Lynsey McNamara in memory of Wayne McNamara and Dolores Doris in memory of James Doris.
