KYLE Finn netted a brace as Leamington secured a second successive pre-season victory with a 3-1 win at Sutton Coldfield Town.
Finn scored twice for the Brakes either side of Callum Cockerill-Mollett’s debut goal as Leamington triumphed at Coles Lane.
Brakes boss Scott Easterlow missed the game with the birth of his first child with wife Hayley imminent.
Leamington handed first starts to summer signings Jahdahn Fridye-Harper and Cockerill-Mollett with four trialists also included in the starting line-up.
The Brakes took the lead after just four minutes when the Sutton goalkeeper picked up a backpass and a trialist nudged the resulting free-kick into the path of Finn who fired into an empty net.
And Leamington doubled their lead before the break as Cockerill-Mollett powered Finn’s corner from the right into the net to put the Brakes in command.
Finn doubled his tally for the game eight minutes after the interval when he swept home Cockerill-Mollett’s low ball in from the left.
Sutton reduced the deficit with 15 minutes left to play as James McGrady fired a low volley into the corner of the net.
However, despite a raft of second-half changes, the Brakes comfortably saw out the game under the guidance of coaches Callum and Gary Ingram.
Leamington continue their pre-season campaign against Walsall on Saturday, July 11 with kick-off at 3pm at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.
