A PENSIONER is believed to have died shortly after an argument with youths in a Warwick street.

The 75 year-old man was rushed to Warwick Hospital after collapsing in Picard Street, where he lived, just before b9pm on Tuesday (November 18).

He was declared dead at hospital just over half an hour later and police are now investigating.

Ch Insp Michael Naughton said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family of the man at this time. This inquiry is in the early stages and we are currently establishing the circumstances leading up to this tragic death.

“There is believed to have been a verbal altercation between the man and a group of young people prior to his collapse. We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the Pickard Street area who may be able to assist us to contact Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 357 of November 18, 2014.”
