A BIONIC dog has become the new poster boy for Avonvale’s Veterinary Centres after suffering a near-fatal accident.
Soldier, a seven-year-old Jack Russell, was hit by a car earlier this year, leaving him with devastating injuries and needing emergency care at the Avonvale Centre in Warwick.
He required round-the-clock nursing for a broken pelvis and facial injuries, which left him with a half-paralysed face and unable to blink.
After months of operations and treatment the brave pooch was ready to start hydrotherapy sessions to help strengthen his damaged muscles.
And it was his strength in the face of adversity which led the Avonvale team to pick him as the poster boy for their hydrotherapy centre in Wellesbourne.
Soldier’s owner Hazel Taylor, from Shipston, said: “He needs regular eye drops but he is a happy little dog and able to run around with his canine housemate Pop Pop.
“Now he is back on his feet, almost as good as new and we cannot thank the Avonvale team enough.”
