The River - Leamington's Loft Theatre

A FISHING trip turns sinister in The River at Leamington’s Loft Theatre.

The scene is a remote cabin on the cliffs above a river. It belongs to The Man – a dedicated fisherman who goes into ecstasies about sea trout, which can be caught in profusion on a moonless night once a year. He is playing host to The Woman, who appears to be his new girlfriend. Then during a nocturnal fishing trip The Woman goes missing, the play darkens, and all may not be as it seems.

Director Greg Cole Said: “It is a play of obsession and fear. It tantalizes and mesmerizes in equal measure. Anyone who likes good theatre will find it spellbinding.”

The plays was penned by Jez Butterworth, author of Jerusalem, and proved a hit in both the West End and on Broadway.

The production runs from Tuesday January 19 to Saturday January 23.
