Old Town gets a clean up thanks to volunteers

Leamington Editorial 12th Apr, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

LEAMINGTON’S Old Town underwent a wash and brush up at the weekend.

Dedicated volunteers rolled up their sleeves to scrub down some of the buildings and street signs in South Leamington.

Kristie Naimo, one of the organisers, said – “We want to let people know we take pride in South Leamington and encourage others to do so – leading by example.”

Co-organiser Sarah Windrum added: “These clean ups have been so well received – local businesses such as Millennium Sweethouse gave the volunteers hot drinks, and Bridges Supermarket provided water for washing the buildings.”

The regular clean ups are organised the ‘Open Spaces’ group which work to improve the look of the area.

The informal group meets on the first Friday of every month, at 11am at the Parish Church cafe. Newcomers are welcome at the next meeting on May 6.
