Firefighters give pupils a run for their money

Leamington Editorial 24th Jul, 2017   0

PUPILS at Myton School have been given a run for their money by Leamington firefighters.

Youngsters took on a 5km race around the school grounds, raising more than £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.

They took the the track along with staff and firefighters Stuart James, Guy Buxton and Steve Bolt.

The run ended in a neck and neck sprint to the finish line between Stuart and 13 year-old Ruben Siemon Kleba.

Myton Head of PE, Rachel Cole, said: “This event is getting better every year.

“The rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of the students who ran, walked and skipped their way around the course. I’d like to thank the firefighters for supporting us and all those who helped us reach our fundraising target.”
