GOLF balls rained down on Stoneleigh Golf Club as part of a high-flying competition to raise money for vulnerable children.

The annual charity event organised by Coventry and Warwickshire Business Board saw £10,000 raised for the NSPCC.

The fund-raiser, which is now in its tenth year, saw hundreds of golf balls dropped out of a helicopter after 17 teams completed a round of the game.

The winning ball was the one which landed the closest to the pin and belonged to Ben Reynolds, an accountant from Leamington.

Event organiser Keith Fairbrother, a former Coventry and England rugby player, said: “Yet again, the day was an amazing success with masses of support from businesses and organisations in the region.

“To raise in the region of £10,000 again for the NSPCC is fantastic, it was a good day and brilliant to see everyone enjoying themselves in aid of a great cause.”
