A DOG is seeking a new home after a difficult start in life which saw him left outside in all weathers and have Mr Muscle cleaner sprayed on a hernia.
Nine-year-old Victor was recently taken in by Rugby-based rescue centre Pawprints where he is now waiting to find his forever home.
The dog – who is believed to be a mix of Corgi and Shar Pei – was recued by the charity, and was in so much pain staff were not able to handle him.
But after surgery to remove a huge benign testicular tumour and a hernia, the pup is now comfortable and enjoys a fuss.
Before Victor was rescued his owner was understood to be using Mr Muscle cleaner in a bid to get rid of the rectal hernia – which sees parts of bowel or intestine protrude outside the body.
Pawprints founder Anita Twigger said: “Victor is a brave little man. He is now all recovered from his surgery and starting to love humans, perhaps for the first time in his life.
“He was in so much pain when he came in we couldn’t handle him but now he loves being stroked.”
Victor will need to live in a house with no children as he does not like being picked up.
