CHRISTIANS in Kenilworth have been left shocked and dismayed after vandals knocked down the Easter cross in Abbey Fields.
The cross was carried through the town during the Kenilworth Walk of Witness on Good Friday before being put up in Abbey Fields
But on Saturday night it was pulled down provoking anger and dismay on social media.
One person said: “Christians in this town want to share the love of God with those around them, it’s sad that this small minority can’t afford them the same in return.”
Another said: “In almost 50 years of living in Kenilworth I’ve never known such disrespect. What is life coming to when people vandalise a symbol of peace.”
Police are investigating and are keen to hear from anyone with information.
