Plans resubmitted in bid to convert offices into luxury flats

Leamington Editorial 2nd Jun, 2019   0

PLANS to convert offices near Leamington into luxury flats have been resubmitted.

Originally Jephson House on Stoneleigh Road in Blackdown was set to be converted into 23 affordable apartments.

But a planning application has now been submitted to Warwick District Council for the building – built in the 1850s – to be turned into nine apartments, nine mews homes, two terraced properties’ and two detached properties.

Property developer Spitfire Bespoke Homes has submitted the application and say the original building – which was used as offices until December 2017 – will be kept.

All of the other buildings on the site will be demolished.

A spokesman from Spitfire said: “The proposal will create a high quality housing development within the wider area of Blackdown which will maintain and enhance the architectural character. The proposal will provide a positive contribution to the hamlet in an appropriate form and scale.

“The use of quality materials, attention to local architectural detail and careful disposition of buildings will create a quality environment fully in keeping with the character of the area.”
