A SKIPATHON at a Kenilworth school has raised money to help educate children in Nigeria.
Pupils at Crackley Hall hopped, skipped and jumped across the school hall to raise cash for the Sister Mary Aloysius College of Mercy.
The event was organised by the Minnie Vinnies – a charity which aims to make a difference to underprivileged people’s lives.
The money will help fund urgent building works and to repair the school minibus enabling more children in Nigeria to benefit from an education.
Sister Philomena Bower, a former headmistress of the school when it was known as St Joseph’s Convent, returned to collect the cheque for more than £2,800 on behalf of the charity.
A charity spokeswoman said: “The school is funded completely by donations and named after a Sister. Well done to all the skippers who took part and a big thank you to those who generously donated to the skipathon.”
