Town centre attack leaves man with serious facial injuries

A MAN suffered serious facial injuries after being attacked in Leamington town centre in the early hours of the morning.

It happened outside Murphy’s Bar in Regent Street at around 1.15am on Sunday (August 18).

A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding the victim, a man in his 30s, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.




Det Con Ed Doxey said: “There were a number of people in the area at the time and we’re keen for them to come forward.

“We are also keen to speak to people who saw the incident. Any information, no matter how small, could be significant to our investigation.”
