Lighthorne Heath gets new name after village vote

Leamington Editorial 19th Sep, 2019   0

RESIDENTS have renamed themselves in Lighthorne Heath,

A vote was taken at the request of the Lighthorne Heath Parish Council to rename the parish to reflect the changing face of the area with the arrival of up to 3,000 new homes in the coming years.

Four potential names were chosen by councillors to reflect the character and history of the area and residents were asked to vote for the name they liked best.

King’s Holt received 15 votes, Longbrook 40 votes and King’s Meadow 42 votes.

But the clear winner was Upper Lighthorne with 118 votes. Just over a third of residents voted.
