A LEAMINGTON business has scooped an award for its work manufacturing PPE during the first lockdown.
Engineering company Ricardo has been named a ‘UK Business Hero’ for designing and manufacturing face shields for the NHS and frontline healthcare workers.
The award is led by the British Chamber of Commerce and recognises businesses which have gone the extra mile to help the local community during the pandemic.
The company – which provides consultancy services and manufacturing for the automotive industry – designed and produced a face shield for use in medical settings.
Ricardo managing director Stephen Dyke said: “The Ricardo team is enormously honoured to have been recognised as a UK Business Hero. We were very proud to be able to help to protect those in the front line at care homes and in the NHS, and it has been humbling for us to receive very positive feedback on our efforts to provide PPE to staff in these absolutely crucial roles.”
