A BOY has been arrested after cannabis farms were found in Leamington.
Police were called to Tachbrook Road at around 8.30pm on May 8 following reports of a possible disturbance at two properties.
Several police cars, and a dog unit responded to the call.
A boy was stopped and searched on arrival at the scene.
Evidence found meant officers accessed the two properties with support from a firearms unit.
Two large cannabis farms were found, containing 800 plants with an estimated street value of £500,000.
The plants were seized and destroyed, which police say will have severely disrupted the supply of cannabis within Warwickshire.
A 16-year-old boy of no fixed address was arrested in relation to cultivation of cannabis and immigration offences. He has since been released on bail while investigations continue.
Anyone with information or CCTV is asked to call police on 101 or ring 0800 555 111 to speak to Crimestoppers anonymously.
