Leamington care home residents have a whale of a time

ANIMAL-lovers at Cubbington Mill care home in Leamington have been having a whale of a time.

Residents and staff at the care home celebrating International World Animal Day on Tuesday (October 4) by getting up close to a host of mini creatures brought in by Animal Mania.

These included chinchillas, bearded dragons and even snakes.

World Animal Day started in 1931 to highlight the plight of endangered species and is celebrated by animal lovers across the globe.




General Manager, Laura Russell, said: “Our residents and staff love the chance to interact with animals, so to have a day dedicated to them was something very special. We’ve had a great day meeting some new furry friends and the odd scaly one too. It’s been fantastic.”

A resident added: “It has been a fun day. I never thought I’d hold a lizard, they’re really quite friendly and very warm.”
