Fix your Bike Voucher Scheme: Apply for a £50 voucher

Claire Bullivant 28th Jul, 2020 Updated: 29th Jul, 2020

If you are a keen cyclist and have an old bike gathering dust at home, you can apply for a £50 voucher to get it repaired.

The Fix your Bike Voucher Scheme launched today, allows members of the public to receive a voucher worth up to £50 towards the cost of repairing a bicycle.

The scheme is open to anyone in England who has an unused cycle in need of a repair.

Vouchers can only be used with bike repairers or mechanics that are registered for the scheme in England, and up to two vouchers can be claimed per household.

By encouraging people to get their old bikes out of the back of the shed fixed and safe to ride, it is hoped the scheme will help more people choose cycling over public transport as a convenient way to travel, for example when going to the shops or seeing friends.

Due to overwhelming demand for cycle shops’ services during the pandemic, vouchers will be released in batches in order to help manage capacity across participating stores. The first 50,000 are now available on a first come first served basis to those who register online.

Registrations for members of the public who want to apply for a voucher should go to the Energy Saving Trust website here.

If you’re a bike repairer and want to take part in the scheme, read the guidance for bike repair businesses and apply by clicking here.
