PICTURE SPECIAL: Fusiliers Way is officially opened in Warwick

A NEW road in Warwick is sure to get military fans attention.

The official opening of Fusiliers Way took place on Saturday (June 22).

The road is named after the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers – previously known as the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and 6th Regiment of Foot – a line infantry regiment of the British Army which celebrates its 350th birthday this year.

The Regiment has a long-established history with the town of Warwick and the wider county, which the naming of this road honours.

Other roads off Fusiliers Way have been named after ex-service personnel from the Warwickshire area, honouring the town’s military history and heritage.

Cadets marched from Butler Way to the green space off Fusilier Way to open the event. Representatives from

Warwick District Council, Warwick Town Council and The Fusilier Association then officially opened the road.
